In recent years one man has been the architect who has played the leading role in the foreign policy of the Togolese Republic: His Excellency Faure Essozimna GNASSINGBE. He has succeeded in giving Togolese diplomacy a «vital impulse», to borrow Henri Bergson’s expression, and made his presidency of the ECOWAS a mandate devoted to service to the West African society.
