The Togolese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Professor Robert Dussey was received by Dr Josephine Ojiambo, at the General Secretariat’s Office of the Commonwealth on 20 April 2017.
The meeting focused on the joining process of the Republic of Togo. Indeed, Togo expressed its interest to join the Commonwealth and submitted documents for an informal application in May 2016. An in-country membership assessment mission took place in February 2017 and a second one is scheduled for mid-June of this year. The membership application consists of a four-step process which will last until 2018 in Togo’s case.
