The Togolese government and the African Union organize from 10 to 15 October 2016 a range of side events including a series of round tables and presentations that will bring together renown African and international experts, representatives of international organizations and maritime sector companies. The following major issues will be discussed in greater depth:
- the fight against maritime piracy and other trafficking,
- the development of blue economy and ecosystem protection,
- maritime security and safety,
- maritime governance and collaboration in judicial and police matters.
